handbrake-cli software package provides versatile DVD ripper and video transcoder (command line), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install handbrake-cli
handbrake-cli is installed in your system.
Make ensure the handbrake-cli package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep handbrake-cli *
You will get with handbrake-cli package name, version, architecture and description in a table
